Brief Outline of Installation
1) Mark out the area of installation
2) Clear the area of all grass and vegetation. You can use rakes, hoes or a
sod cutter.
3) Install a sub base of crushed aggregate stone. The depth of stones depends
on the location where you live. Generally within 1" to 4". In certain very firm
ground this can be installed over compacted dirt, but this is not recommended.
4) Once you decide on your base you are then ready to compact the area. Use both a tamper and a sod roller or plate tamper to insure proper compaction.
5) Its suggested to spray the entire area with a vegetation grass killer and
use a weed blocker.
6) After the ground is prepared, the grass is then laid out and cut to fit
the dimensions.
7) As the rolls are 15 feet wide, in some installations seaming is necessary.
8) Once the turf is installed you are ready to weigh down the turf with
contractor grade
sand or crumb rubber. Due to the perforated backing is not necessary to cut
drain holes. You would use a seed spreader and broom to sweep into the fibers.
This gives the fibers stability. Generally it take about a 1 to 2 pounds per
square foot.
